A Warm Welcome to Connel in Scotland

Achnamara guest house is a large, comfortable and informal home set on the Firth of Lorn, in a stunning location, off the main road in the attractive village of Connel, 5 miles (8 km) from the port of Oban in the heart of Argyll. From Oban you can visit the Western Isles including Mull and Iona.

We offer quality, affordable accomodation including Bed and Breakfast. Our accomodation comprises of clean, comfortable single or double rooms.

Our seashore hut
We are ideally situated for the pursuit of various outdoor activities and visiting the areas main attractions. Within easy walking distance to pub, restaurants and village shop, rail station and bus stop.

Achnamara Bed and Breakfast has an extensive garden with prize winning rhododendrons and azalea display in May. The garden extends directly onto the shore and overlooks Loch Etive and the Falls of Lora with beautiful views of the mountains and islands.  There is abundant wildlife to be seen all year round and if you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of an Otter that lives nearby.

A seashore hut with wood burning stove is open to guests for relaxing, reading, birdwatching and drying of wet weather gear.

A small organic vegetable garden provides some seasonal breakfast produce and home made preserves.

The large drawing room overlooks the tidal Connel Bridge, the Falls of Lora and Loch Etive. There is also an open log fire. The very comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation can be up or downstairs.

While the weather cannot always be guaranteed you can rest assured that you will always receive a very friendly welcome.
